Stud - Breeding
Our stud is based in
Pusztaberény, which was one of the most famous Hungarian horse studs
from the 19th century until the second world war. Lipizzaners, Trotters
and Thoroughbreds used to be bred in the tiny village. After the world
war Pusztaberény often changed owners. The Furioso stud came here from
Germany in 1982.
Today the stud operates as a part of the Hubertus
Agro-Industrial Company and we breed Kisbéri Félvér and Hungarian
Sporthorses.
The stock of the stud consists of about 15 Kisbéri
Félvér mares having been bred for preserving the genes of the Hungarian
Kisbér bred and for sport
and leisure goals. Our most important goals in breeding are to bring up
elegant and cooperative horses with perfect appearance features and who
are excellent to ride. The mares are strictly selected. Before being
chosen to be bred all the young mares have to pass an efficiency exam.
The reputation of horses kept in the Hubertus
riding school is spreading widely even over the borders of Hungary. One
of the reasons for it is the fact that in order to freshen and
modernize the stock we had mares mated with the chestnut Trakehner
stallion called HOHENSTEIN II. (Caprimond / Helena). This stallion
trained to the S-level category has already taken good places at
several national and international championships. Owing to his
excellent physical characteristics and nice motion we had him mated
more than 350 mares between 1995 and 2001. The colts descending from
him are easy to ride and show good sense of balancing even for the
first time they are ridden. These talented horses can usually be found
among the placed ones at several breeding musters.
In order to
improve the collection in 1999 a bay Trakehner stallion named HÖLDERLIN
(Michelangelo / High Socks) was put into action.
Colts and fillies are kept in separate stables
with paddocks according to their age.The daily grazing together with
the regular contact with the stablemen guarantee the best conditions
for their healthy growth and development, enabling them to work up
close relationship to human.
According to their abilities they become dressage,
jumping or driving horses. We try to sell most of them. By clicking on 'Horses for sale' you can view our
current offer.
